Description
Families' experiences with academic counseling
Counselors play an important role in the students' future. Throughout this meeting parents and students shared their experiences with counselors. Some parents said that few counselors didn't wanted to place Latinos or African Americans in high classes because of their bad grades. On the other hand, most parents said that counselors provide a great help to students. Students said that the counselors were guides toward college. This meeting informed the parents that a mutual works with the counselors is key to a student's success. This meeting was held on November tenth 1999.
